As we enter the darker half of the year, taking care of your mind, body, and spirit is essential. The ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, celebrated during Halloween, marked the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter. It was believed that the boundary between the living and the dead was blurred, and spirits roamed freely. The season can also amplify feelings of depression and anxiety, making it necessary to find ways to appease the self. We can use yoga to help fight depression and anxiety and honor the spirits within.

Yoga is an excellent way to honor the spirits within. The word ‘Yoga’ means union, and it’s a practice of connecting the mind, body, and spirit. Linking to our inner selves makes us more aligned with our higher purpose. Yoga helps us become more present, focused, and mindful, deepening our connection with the self.

Studies show that yoga is an effective treatment for depression. Yoga postures and breathing exercises have a calming effect on the mind and body, reducing symptoms of depression and anxiety. Regular yoga practice can significantly improve one’s emotional well-being. Yoga helps to balance the nervous system, slow down the mind, and release built-up tension and stress that may lead to depression.

We began our School of Yoga to train yoga teachers to find their voice and listen to their hearts when connecting with yoga students.

Yoga for Mental Health

Experiencing anxiety, lack of motivation, or brain fog? Looking for a safe space to talk about mental health?  This class will begin with tuning into your body via gentle yoga poses and breathing exercises, followed by recognizing and releasing stored emotions in areas of the body.  This practice will give you another tool to release emotions both in the studio and on your own!  We will finish with a share circle to deepen our experience and connect with others so you no longer feel alone in your journey. Join Melissa,a Licensed Professional Counselor and registered Yoga Teacher for a relaxing yoga experience to release negative energy in the body and connect with others about mental health.

Thai Body Work

Are you looking to get out of your head and into your body? Join Lynn in this two-hour workshop as she guides you through the ancient art of Thai Body Work, which is designed to calm the mind and help release tension from the body.


Using mindful pressure points and gentle rocking motions, partners will be encouraged to let go of stress and reconnect with themselves and their partners.

Wear comfortable clothing and bring someone you feel comfortable touching. Each partner will have a turn as we move through a sequence of techniques to move the body in a relaxed environment.
