Why Yoga Is Something You Have to Feel

I’m back, baby—and wow, I didn’t realize how much I missed this.

There’s something we talk about a lot in Yoga Teacher Training that’s hard to explain, but impossible to miss once you’ve felt it.

Yoga is not something you understand your way into.

It’s something you feel—like love, like connection, like energy.

You can read about it.
You can think about it.
But until you experience it, it stays theoretical.

While I was out with an injury, I still had a practice. It just looked different—limited, quieter, more contained. And honestly, I didn’t feel like anything was missing… until I stepped fully back into the studio.

And then it was like The Wizard of Oz when the Technicolor turns on.

Suddenly, everything had depth.
Brightness.
Elation.

Moving freely again—on the mat, in the air—felt like my energy expanded beyond my body. Not in a dramatic, fireworks way… but in that unmistakable oh, there you are kind of way. My cup didn’t just refill—it overflowed.

That’s the thing about yoga.

It gently unplugs you from the constant analysis, the mental loops, the stress, and stories you’ve been carrying around like overstuffed luggage. Over time—through consistent practice—you stumble into this sweet spot where the thinking softens. The edges blur. And you connect with something you can’t see, but you absolutely feel.

That connection is what nourishes you.
That’s what fills your cup.

And it doesn’t happen on day one. It takes practice. Patience. Showing up even when your brain is loud. But once you find it… You know. And you keep coming back—not to fix yourself, but to remember yourself.

My wish for you is that you find that feeling, too.

And if it’s not yoga, that’s okay. Truly.

But find the thing that makes your spirit sing.

The thing that pulls you out of your head and drops you fully into your body.

The thing that reminds you you’re alive—not just productive, not just surviving.

Maybe it’s movement.
Maybe it’s music.
Maybe it’s creating, connecting, breathing, or being still long enough to hear yourself again.

Whatever it is—make time for it. Protect it. Practice it.

Because when your cup is full, everything else in your life shows up differently.

And if your curiosity is nudging you back to the mat—or into the silks—you can catch me in the studio. My schedule is up, and I’d love to practice with you.

Come feel it for yourself.
