How do you measure success? My Dad would always say, “I am rich in love”. I was feeling his sentiments last night at our Aerial Showcase. The best part about the showcase is sitting back and watching all of the performers come alive with magic.
The event was a success with over 240 people in attendance, 23 acts, @kerryfreemanmusic, and the @rockinroosterfood truck, everyone had an amazing time. Red’s Roadhouse hosted us in style for the second year in a row. I am so thankful for Aleisha and her team. Wesley Fikes from @findinghopephotos and Andrew Christian @lastonthelist took some amazing pictures and they will be coming soon. Below is the program with special thanks to everyone who helped bring the event together.
This week will mark an important milestone for me, and it is the official Birthdate of Sunshine Yoga Shack. On October 26th, 2012, my sweet husband, Eric, built a pergola patio for me to teach yoga on, in our backyard. He told me, “Look Honey, I built you a Sunshine Yoga Shack.” I knew the name had a good vibration. I went to the courthouse and established my DBA or ‘doing business as’ and bought the dot com.The rest is history.
Last night several people said to me, look what you did; look what you started. I may have established the studio, but I would never say I did this alone. My family helped, every teacher at the studio helped, and every yogi and aerialist who took a class or performed in a showcase, put energy and work into building this place.Have you been in yet? If not, please come and see us.
I measure success by feeling all the love I felt in that room last night. It’s not about the hardest trick or the best costume. It is about creating community and about being a part of something bigger than yourself. Thank you for supporting the studio over the past 10 years.
There is more still to come. Check out what we are doing next below.
Love and Light,
Lynn
