Did You Miss it? A Spooky Night, with more magic to come...

Some nights leave you with tired feet, a full heart, and no idea how to put the magic into words.

Our Sunshine Aerial Showcase X: A Night at a Spooky Speakeasy was one of those nights.

We celebrated ten years of Sunshine showcases, and after missing last year because of my injury, returning to this tradition meant more to me than I can explain. To come back together and create an evening filled with so much talent, laughter, courage, and love was a gift.

And Sunshine… this SOLD OUT SHOW was our best one yet.

Just wait until you see how amazing the studio looked! Our familiar little yoga home transformed into a spooky speakeasy, dressed with round tables, costumes, and enough atmosphere to make even the ghosts want to stay for one more song. There is something wonderful about watching a space where we practice every day become the setting for an entirely different kind of magic.

The music. The performers. The costumes. The cheers. All that love in the room.

It makes my heart sing just thinking about it.

Courage looks beautiful in the air.

What you saw on showcase night was the performance. What you didn’t see were all the hours that came before it: the practice, the repetition, the slippery moments, the tired muscles, and the decision to try again.

Every aerialist brought more than a routine. They brought a piece of themselves.

That is one of my favorite things about this practice. We might begin by learning how to climb, wrap, balance, or invert, but somewhere along the way, we learn something about trust. We learn to stay present when something feels difficult. We discover that confidence often arrives after we take the brave little step.

Sometimes that step happens to be several feet off the floor.

You do not have to perform in a showcase to understand that feeling. It lives in your first yoga class, your first attempt at a challenging pose, or the moment you return after life has knocked you sideways. There is wisdom in beginning again—and there is so much strength in letting your community cheer you on.

To our incredible aerialists: thank you.

You made this night unforgettable, each in your own way. Please join me in celebrating:

Sharing the air with this group was an honor. To our aerial students and teachers, thank you for your time, your creativity, and your willingness to be seen. You gave us drama, sweetness, mystery, strength, and a whole lot of personality. Every performance added something special to the evening.

And a big thank-you to Jordan Shelton- Clower, our MC, for helping carry us through this wonderfully spooky celebration! She did an amazing job, and we hope she comes back next year.

Behind every magical night are the people who make it happen.

First, a very special thank-you to Eric, my sexy, supportive husband, who set up and took down all 100 tables and chairs! Apparently, turning a yoga studio into a speakeasy comes with a complimentary strength workout.

But my gratitude for Eric goes far beyond tables and chairs. Thank you, my Eric, for lifting me up every day so I can keep doing what I do. Your love, encouragement, and willingness to help make these big ideas happen mean more than I can put into words. You help me keep shining, even on the days when my own light feels a little dim.

To Mallory, thank you for helping keep the studio running every day. So much care and work goes into keeping our Sunshine home moving, and I am deeply grateful for everything you do. I could not do it without you.

A big shout-out to Te, Alex, Shawn, and Eric Morgan for helping with setup! Thank you for jumping in and helping bring our spooky speakeasy to life.

Thank you to Melissa Lawson for running the open bar and keeping our speakeasy spirits flowing.

Thank you to PJ, Carrie, and Mark for the delicious brisket nachos. A night of aerial artistry deserves excellent snacks, and you delivered.

Thank you to JB for running the music and lights, bringing each performance’s mood to life.

Thank you to Mickie and Jessica C., our wonderful door crew, for welcoming everyone into the evening.

These contributions made it possible for us to gather, settle in, and enjoy the show. I am so grateful for the people who give their time and energy to help Sunshine shine.

And to everyone who attended—thank you.

Thank you for dressing up, showing up, cheering loudly, and filling our studio with love. A performance changes when the people watching are rooting for you. Our aerialists felt that support, and so did I.

No words are big enough to describe the show and the vibe. It was a night to remember, and you helped make it that way.

For me, this evening reminded me to pause and appreciate what we have built together. It is easy to get caught up in the next class, the next task, and the next thing on the calendar. Then a night like this comes along, and you look around the room and realize just how much there is to be grateful for.

Missed the show—or ready for an encore?

Members can watch the showcase in the Sunshine Yoga Shack app under Videos. Settle in and enjoy an evening of music, movement, and Sunshine magic.
