Hidden treasure. When we arrived at the Sleeping Giant Jungle Lodge in Belize, we asked about any waterfalls we could find on the property. We were told no big waterfalls would be found. Eric, my husband, and I were surprised to find this beauty on a hike through the jungle. The truth is, this waterfall had been dormant for four years and we were the first to see it come alive after it’s sleep.
You never know what treasures will be found with a little effort. One of my favorite things about yoga is the quiet and peace that can be found during a yoga practice. Deep within each of us, underneath the conditioning and influence, is Purusa or our authentic self.
This self, or the seer, does not change and is a solid, consistent version of yourself that is steadfast, unchangeable. The more we connect with Purusa the less we let the ego, conditioning, or the world around us disturb our peace.
Another way to dive deep and discover Purusa is to understand your yoga practice on a deeper level.
