It’s That Time of Year: The Sunshine Aerial Showcase is coming.

This week marks the beginning of something truly exciting—our official prep for the 8th annual Aerial Showcase! Over the years, this event has become a celebration of not only aerial yoga but also the strength, mindfulness, and grace we’ve cultivated together as a community. Some of our aerialists have been preparing all year for this moment, and we can’t wait to share their hard work and creativity with you.

Join us on Saturday, October 19th at the Farr Best Theater at 7:00 PM for an unforgettable night of performances at our 8th Annual Sunshine Aerial Showcase. Find out more below, and don’t miss out on this magical event!

When I first added aerial yoga to my practice, I had no idea it would lead me here—hosting showcases, teaching, and performing alongside incredible students and teachers. Along the way, I’ve learned so much, and today I’d like to share a few key insights:

1) The Neuroscience of Aerial Yoga
Spinning, flipping, and taking our bodies into the air isn’t just fun—it’s also incredibly stimulating for the brain. Engaging in movements that take us up and down while synchronizing breath and flow activates the vestibular system, which governs balance and coordination. This has improved my dexterity and body awareness in ways I never thought possible. Aerial yoga challenges the brain to process spatial orientation (the relationship between your body and the space around you) in new ways, which can enhance neural plasticity—basically, it keeps your brain sharp while keeping your body active!

2) Strength and Stamina on a Whole New Level
I thought my regular yoga practice had given me great physical conditioning, but once I took my practice into the air, I realized I was only scratching the surface. Aerial yoga requires full-body engagement, building strength in muscles that don’t always get the same attention on the mat. The core, shoulders, and grip strength develop at an incredible pace when you’re supporting your own weight, and the stamina needed to keep flowing from one posture to the next is a workout like no other. Each practice in the fabric pushes my limits, expanding what I believe is possible for my body.

3) Mindfulness in Motion
One of the most unexpected lessons I’ve learned from aerial yoga is the mindfulness it requires—and the way it has impacted my life off the mat. The key to a smooth practice is learning to let go and allow the fabric to move you. That sense of surrender, of trusting the process, has been a powerful tool in my everyday life. In moments of stress or uncertainty, I remind myself of how I relax into the fabric, trusting its support while finding balance in midair. It’s a metaphor that translates beautifully into navigating life’s challenges with grace and ease.

Whether you stay grounded in the studio or fly off the mat with aerial, remember that yoga is so much more than exercise. It’s a practice that strengthens the mind and body, expanding your awareness and helping you grow in unexpected ways.

We can’t wait to celebrate with you at this year’s showcase! The after party will be next door to The Farr Best Theater at 063 Studios where we will have snacks, cocktails & mocktails, karaoke on the big screen and costume contest with a cash prize. Link below.

Oh my goodness PUPPIES! I cannot wait to see who we meet this week. Whether you want to be part of the fun in person at 063 Studios or prefer to watch live from the comfort of your home, you won’t want to miss this episode.

Join us and be part of the Mansfield spirit, at 7:00 am.

Maybe you would like to advertise on the show. Let me know we have a few spots open for September.
