Do you ever feel like you are in competition with someone? What if I told you that the person you are really competing against is yourself? Comparison can be the thief of joy. Yet, yoga can help you let go of the need to compare yourself to others and instead focus on personal growth. Learning to embrace the competition with yourself can help to discover your best.

This past week we did a thing. A small group of us competed in the Aerial Star Competition. Pat N., Katelyn B., and I recorded aerial performances and submitted them for judging. We enjoyed creating our routines and working together toward a shared goal. We are not competing against each other, as we are in different divisions, but we are each competing with our best selves. This experience helped each of us in our personal growth.

The winners will be announced on July 22nd and 23rd. This is Katelyn’s third competition, and Pat’s and mine first. Photographer David M. M. Taffet with Invisible Man Photography supported us and documented the event. (Thank you, David, for the above photo.)

Growth with Yoga

Yoga teaches us to look inward and connect deeper with ourselves. Through yoga practice, we learn to observe our thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations without judgment. This practice can help us develop a more compassionate relationship with ourselves and our perceived weaknesses. In fact, yoga teaches us that our weaknesses can be our greatest teachers. When we recognize and accept our limitations, we create space for growth and strengthen ourselves.

In yoga, there is no such thing as a perfect pose or a perfect practice. Every day on the mat is different, and we must learn to honor our bodies and minds wherever they are in the present moment. This mindset can carry over into our daily lives as we learn to appreciate our own unique journeys without comparing ourselves to others.

Consistent practice can teach us to relinquish the need for external validation. Getting caught up in the desire for likes, followers, or accolades can be easy. However, yoga teaches us that true happiness and fulfillment come from within. When we connect with ourselves and our values, we can relinquish the need for external validation and live more authentically.

Yoga offers us a powerful tool for embracing our own journey and letting go of the need for comparison and competition. Finding a deeper connection with ourselves, we appreciate our own unique journeys and let go of the need for external validation. By embracing your own journey, you can unlock your full potential and create a truly fulfilling life.

Register to Perform in our 7th Annual Showcase

Are you interested in performing in Sunshine’s 7th Annual Aerial Showcase? Register to be a performer; there are limited spots this year. The cost is $100, and you will be invited to attend all open gyms and practice sessions. You will get help with your routine, so you are amazing. You must attend two yoga classes a month, be at the dress rehearsal, have your performance approved by Lynn, and have a lot of fun!

Green Tag!

We have been green-tagged, and painters will start next week. The visual changes in our new space will come alive in the following weeks. The new studio is at 127 North Main Street in Historic Downtown Mansfield. Viridian Roofing and Construction is doing an incredible job of preparing our new space. Yin and Sound Bath with Mallory July 14th

Join Mallory for an invigorating Sound Bath with the therapeutic crystal bowls. We will do a 20-minute yin yoga session releasing the muscular body & brief guided meditation, allowing us to settle into our comfortable spots, sinking deep into a state of relaxation. Sound therapy is based on the idea that every part of your body creates a vibration that resonates in a certain way. Sound healing works by sending sound waves throughout the body, helping restore balance at a cellular level. The benefits include deep relaxation, better sleep, increased brain wave frequency, and decreased stress and anxiety. Mallory Green Spielman is a certified 200hr E-RYT, Expert Sound Bath Practitioner, Aerial Yoga Instructor & Reiki Master. 

Sunshine School of Yoga

Sunshine School of Yoga is a Register School with Yoga Alliance and is Accredited with 200 Hour and 300 Hour Certifications Requirements. You will be able to advance your designation with YA upon completion of this training program.

If you crave to teach or deepen your yoga practice, join Sunshine on this Life-Changing Journey. Sunshine School of Yoga 200 Teacher Training Program will focus on the science and art of teaching yoga. We will explore posture, breath work, mindful meditation, and the science behind it.

We will move deeper to understand anatomy, the benefits of movement, Yoga history, and an exploration of the eight limbs of yoga.

300-Hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training

Are you interested in advancing your skill set as a yoga teacher? A 300-hour yoga teacher training is an advanced program for aspiring yoga teachers who have already completed a 200-hour training course and strive to know more.

Sunshine School of Yoga’s 300-Hour Training Program is designed to advance the basic level of knowledge presented at most 200-hour yoga teacher training programs. We will tap into what you love about teaching yoga and enhance your skills and all areas.

We have broken out our 300-Hour Training into three different 100-Hour Certifications.

The Body of Yoga, The Mind of Yoga, and The Spirit of Yoga

Each module can be taken in person or online exclusively, or a hybrid of both. These modules are designed to be taken together in one 300-hour training course or for continuing education; on their own.
