There is something special about the touch of a mother. It is comforting, reassuring, and healing. A mother’s touch can ease the pain of a scraped knee, calm a crying baby, and warm the heart of a troubled teenager. It is a touch that says, “I am here for you, and I love you.” A mother’s touch reminds us that we are never alone and that someone always cares for us deeply.
A mother’s touch can influence and shape the course of our lives. The lessons and values she instills in us can stay with us forever. A mother can teach us to be kind, compassionate, and resilient. She can inspire us to pursue our dreams and never give up on ourselves. The influence of a mother can be seen in the choices we make, the relationships we form, and the people we become.
I lost my mother nine years ago, yet I feel her with me every day. She is the words I say, the things I think about myself, and most importantly, how I interact with the world around me. I would not be who I am today without her.
Regardless if you had a good relationship with your mother or one that wasn’t so great, she will always be your mother. Here are some words of wisdom I learned from my mother, and maybe they will touch you as well.
Wise words from my Mother:
- “This too shall pass.” It is a reminder that no matter how difficult a situation may seem, it will eventually get better. It is a message of hope and resilience that can help us to weather life’s storms. It can also encourage us to live in the moment, cherish the good times, and make the most of every day.
- “Beauty comes from the inside.” Our outward appearance does not define us. The kindness, compassion, and generosity we show to others radiate from us and show others who we really are. A mother can help us see the beauty in ourselves and others and encourage us to value what truly matters in life. This is a reminder that we are all worthy of love and that we all have something special to offer.
- “He who hesitates is lost.” I learned this lesson at the dinner table by taking my time to get my food and missing out. However, it showed me never to hesitate to tell someone you love them and never to let an opportunity pass me by.
- “Time is fleeting.” My mom would tell me this to prepare me for school in the morning. As I grow older, I know these words are harsh. My children are grown now, and I cherished every moment when they were small. Time moves quickly, and life can pass you by if you let it.
- “You can choose to be happy, or your can choose to be sad, but either way, the choice is yours.” Wise words spoken to a sulky teenager. I know it is not this simple, but I do know we can change negative thought patterns in our brains with awareness and yoga practice.
So, to all the mothers out there, thank you for your unwavering love and for being the amazing women that you are. And to all the children, cherish your mothers and all they have done for you. Remember their touch, their influence, their wise words, and the love that they have for you. It is a love that will stay with you for a lifetime.

Last week our amazing Yoga Teachers in training graduated from Sunshine School of Yoga with their 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Certification. They can now register with the Yoga Alliance to become RYT-200 Yoga Teachers. Seeing the growth and skills these teachers cultivated over this past year was inspiring. New Class Alert – Aerial Yin and Yoga Nidra with Cindy
Aerial Yin and Yoga Nidra is a 90-minute workshop with 60 minutes of Yin yoga postures in the silk. Yin postures are deep-release yoga poses. These postures are held for three to five minutes and work on releasing the body’s connective tissues. This practice is very meditative, followed by 30 minutes of Yoga Nidra and Sound Bowl Bath. Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation, also translated to Yogic Sleep. This class helps relieve stress, tension, and body aches and promotes healthy sleep. This workshop is great for beginners and is part of a balanced yoga practice.

Intro to Aerial
Are you curious to try Aerial Yoga for the first time or want to establish a solid foundation in this unique practice? This workshop is designed to give you a clear foundation of Aerial Yoga while having lots of fun!
Intro to Aerial will take you to new heights with yoga asanas practiced with the suspension of the aerial hammock. Class is structured for those new to aerial yoga and who want to feel the stretch and benefits of yoga with the support of the silk holding you up.
Class includes a warm-up, a guided sequence of asanas in the silk, and is followed by a floating Savasana and sound bath.
Summer Solstice Sound Bath
Join Mallory for this 90-minute Summer Solstice class celebrating our inner power and light. We will start out with a yin yoga practice allowing the body to release and settle into our yoga nidra meditation. Then we will enjoy the sounds of the therapeutic crystal bowls.
Sound therapy is based on the idea that every part of your body creates a vibration that resonates in a certain way. Sound healing works by sending sound waves throughout the body, helping restore balance at a cellular level. During sound meditation, the client starts out in a beta state (thinking), then starts to move into an alpha state (passive), and finally into a theta-deep relaxation state.
The benefits include nervous system restoration, better sleep, increased brain wave frequency, and decreased stress and anxiety. Feel free to bring blankets, pillows, essential oils, or anything else to make your practice more comfortable.
